The Broker - What It Is

TabTrade went live in Q1 2026. Trading platform registered in Saint Lucia, under the FSRA. The guy behind it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.

His background matters. It means the founder is not figuring it out from scratch. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. But better than someone with no brokerage experience.

The broker opened with execution through Equinix servers. Same infrastructure banks and hedge funds use. Most new brokers leads with marketing and bonuses. Tab Trade led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.

What you can trade: FX, indices, metals, commodities, stock CFDs, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. A wide spread. For something this new, the breadth is not narrow.

The Software

Available: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a browser platform. Both MT5 and cTrader from a single account. Many commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Access to both matters. Pick what suits your style.

MT5 is what most people know. Full charting, EAs, massive community. If you have traded on MetaTrader before, there are no surprises.

cTrader is the cleaner option. Better depth of market. More responsive charts. Native automated trading. Many people prefer it after comparing.

FIX API is there for automated strategies but requires the VIP tier ($25k minimum). TradingView charting is apparently coming. That should be a good addition when it lands.

Costs

Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.

Standard account. 1.0 pip spreads. Zero commission. Straightforward. No minimum deposit. Works for beginners.

Edge. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips average. Flat commission of $3.50 each way. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. So your actual cost per trade sometimes sits under half a pip. That is cheap for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that have spreads this tight ask for $500 or $1,000 upfront. TabTrade does not.

VIP. $25,000 deposit required. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, custom pricing. Not for typical accounts. Ignore this one unless you trade institutionally.

How Fast Are the Fills

The speed is the thing Tab Trade separates from most new launches. Equinix data centres. Under 30ms on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are proper execution targets. Most retail brokers run hundreds of milliseconds.

Does this affect you? If you scalp, yes. The gap between fast execution and sluggish execution is profit or loss on tight trades. If you trade higher timeframes, you will not notice. What matters is they invested in proper execution. That says they are not cutting corners on the tech.

Put together those fill times with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and the total package holds up. Not many platforms at this price point run Equinix connectivity.

Safety

This is the detail that matters. Tab Trade is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No CySEC. No government-backed safety net. If that is a dealbreaker, stop reading. There are tier-1 alternatives out there.

However. The founder built his career at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The server placement is expensive. Dodgy operations do not pay for tier-1 data centre access. That does not make it safe. It should factor into your assessment.

What you are accepting: you trade regulatory safety. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether this deal is worth it depends on you.
